| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Bluewater Bay ResortMillennium Improvement PlanJune 2001Niceville, FloridaThe second stage of the Bluewater Bay Resort Millennium Improvement Plan will commence at the end of July. The second stage is a three-phase plan to renovate 27 of the 36 holes of the golf course. Specifically beginning with the Lake golf course, a significant amount of capital has been allocated toward major renovations to the Fazio/Pate designed course. The renovation of the Lake golf course will include the reconstruction of all putting surfaces to U.S.G.A specifications for green construction. The current turfgrass strain will be upgraded to the highly regarded hybrid Tifdwarf Bermuda enhancing the playing conditions to the same type as the Magnolia Course. During this process the Resort will also reconstruct all of the tee areas and install upgraded drainage systems to all green side bunkers. It is anticipated that the Lake golf course will reopen for play October 1, 2001. The project architect for this major renovation is Mr. Ken Morgan of Morgan Golf Design. Before forming Morgan Golf Design, Mr. Morgan served as Senior Design Associate for Jerry Pate Golf Design as well as a site coordinator for Jack Nicklaus Golf Services. The contractor performing the upgrades to the Lake golf course is Chandler Construction, Inc. Chandler Construction has significant experience in turfgrass related construction. Three of Chandler Construction's most recent projects have received national recognition. Regatta Bay in Destin, FL, Steelwood Golf Club in Loxley, AL and Canebrake Golf Club in Hattiesburg, MS are examples of their commitment to high quality projects.
Throughout construction the Resort will remain open daily for play on the remaining 27 holes not currently affected by this project. For More Information Contact: |
